Arrest Made in Break-In at Los Angeles Mayor’s Residence

Police apprehended a suspected intruder early Sunday morning following a burglary at the residence of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. According to law enforcement, the incident occurred when an individual broke a window to gain entry into the Getty House while it was occupied.

Located in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, the Getty House serves as the residence for Mayor Bass and her family. Although present during the break-in, it was not specified whether Bass had direct contact with the intruder.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among the occupants. The LAPD confirmed the arrest of the suspect, identified as Ephraim Matthew Hunter, 29, without any confrontation.

Hunter was subsequently booked on a felony burglary charge, with bail set at $100,000. At the time, it remained unclear if he had obtained legal representation.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, as stated by authorities. In response to the event, Zach Seidl, Deputy Mayor of Communications, conveyed the Mayor’s appreciation to the LAPD for their swift response and apprehension of the suspect.
